FIRE Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire. Liquid formulations containing organic solvents may be flammable.
NO open flames.
Water spray, dry powder, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION

In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS! STRICT HYGIENE! AVOID EXPOSURE OF ADOLESCENTS AND CHILDREN!

Inhalation Pupillary constriction, muscle cramp, excessive salivation. Sweating. Nausea. Vomiting. Dizziness. Headache. Convulsions. Diarrhoea. Weakness. Laboured breathing. Wheezing. Unconsciousness.
Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Artificial respiration if indicated. Refer for medical attention.
Skin MAY BE ABSORBED! (Further see Inhalation).
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.
Eyes VAPOUR WILL BE ABSORBED! Redness. Pain. Blurred vision.
Face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
Ingestion Abdominal cramps. Diarrhoea. Vomiting. (Further see Inhalation).
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Give a slurry of activated charcoal in water to drink. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL PACKAGING & LABELLING
Evacuate danger area! Consult an expert! Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Treat remaining liquid with an alkaline substance. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Chemical protection suit including self-contained breathing apparatus.
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs. Severe marine pollutant.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
PALE YELLOW TO BROWN (TECHNICAL PRODUCT) LIQUID, WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating above 200C, producing toxic gases including carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, phosphorous oxides and sulfur oxides. Reacts with strong oxidants. Attacks some forms of plastics, rubber and coatings.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: 0.1 mg/m^3 A4 (skin) (ACGIH 2001). MAK: 0.1 mg/m H, I (DFG 2000).
ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin, by ingestion and through the eyes.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substanceis irritating to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the nervous system, resulting in convulsions, respiratory failure, muscle weakness. Cholinesterase inhibition. Exposure may result in death. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.

ENVIRONMENTAL DATA
The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. The substance may cause long-term effects in the aquatic environment. This substance does enter the environment under normal use. Great care, however, should be given to avoid any additional release, e.g. through inappropriate disposal.
NOTES
Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is indicated. Specific treatment is necessary in case of poisoning with this substance; the appropriate means with instructions must be available. If the substance is formulated with solvents also consult the ICSCs of these materials. Carrier solvents used in commercial formulations may change physical and toxicological properties. The odour warning when the exposure limit value is exceeded is insufficient. Do NOT take working clothes home.
